Happy Thanksgiving! (And the Perks of Being a Paid Subscriber)
Paid subscribers are invited to save the date for two special events with the Iowa Writers' Collaborative.
It’s Thanksgiving eve and I just wanted to share with you all how grateful I am that you’re here, reading this column of mine. It’s one of many things I do with my days and it brings me such joy being able to share my work with you all. I’m thankful this holiday season, for not only the gift of family and friends, but also for creativity and the many outlets I’m afforded for sharing. Happy Thanksgiving to you all and may you have a holiday filled with food, family, friends and good fortune!
Now for a couple announcements….First, we’re having a party. Well, the Iowa Writers’ Collaborative is having one. All paid subscribers to one or more Iowa Writers Collaborative columns are welcome to join us on Dec. 7 for a gathering at the Witmer House in Des Moines. Please consider becoming a paid subscriber, then RSVP for our holiday event.
Also, if you happen to have the day off Friday, Nov. 24, the Collaborative is hosting our monthly gathering in the Office Lounge (it’s a fancy name for our monthly Zoom call) for paid subscribers at noon. We’ll hear from Ellen Won Steil, author of her debut suspense novel “Fortune,” published by the Amazon imprint Lake Union Publishing.
“In this explosive novel about a decades-old mystery, shocking revelations of the past and the secrets of three women will be spilled when a small Midwest town announces a DNA Lottery.”
